Tanning Tips

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail - like any task preparation is key.
It is important your prep your skin before applying any self-tanner. Exfoliating rids your skin of dead cells that may cause your tan to fade. Exfoliating your skin before tanning will help create a longer laster colour.

After scrubbing leave the skin clear of oil and moisturizer as this is what causes streaks and blotches. Clear, clean skin is all you need. (Only apply moisturizer to drier parts of the body, i.e elbows, knees, wrists, knuckles.)

Apply your tan in sweeping motions rather than circular motions, this will help to distribute the product more evenly, ensuring you have a perfect result.

Using a tanning mitt will ensure a streak-free finish, we recommend our own ‘D’oro Tan Self-Tanning Mitt.’

We understanding tackling those pesky hands and feet can be annoying!

One of the reasons hands and feet can cause problems when self-tanning is because these are naturally drier and prone to rougher skin. However, using the ‘D’oro Tan – Kabuki Brush,’ can help. Simply use a tiny amount of self-tan or any of the residue product left on the tanning mitt with your D’oro Kabuki Brush in a sweeping motion. Remember, your hands and feet should be the last part that you tan.

We recommended that your leave tan on for 4-6 hours then shower off to reveal your gorgeous new glow. Moisturize if needed, your tan should last up to 1 week.

Although D'oro Tan has a great non-transfer formula we would still recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing whilst waiting for your tan to dry, usually 4-6 hours.

Don't fade away! To keep your tan in tip-top shape we recommend you moisturize as much as you can. This will also help to prevent any of those dry and patchy areas.
